Specials

Tally Younglood is now a Special with her friend, Shay. Instead of running away from Dr. Cable, Tally, Shay, and a bunch of other Cutters work for her now. When Tally learns that Zane is back from the hospital, she tries everything in her power to be with him again.

When the city Armory is destroyed due to Shay and Tally’s antics, a war is declared on the closest city to theirs, Diego, which is highly liberal when it comes to their beauty standards.

I want to stop there because the events that happen in this final story in Tally’s world (even with Extras right after) are completely life changing for this futuristic country.

As with every book in this series, the story always starts with Tally as a new person who remembers her days being an Ugly, a Pretty, and now being a Special. The shift was always different and she was intolerable! Then Tally is in her groove and becomes “bubbly” or “icy” (what the Specials use), she doesn’t bother me as much.

The slang is more developed in this book but I was able to follow along with Westerfeld. The third act is mind blowing, exhilarating, and action-packed. Entertaining and a must read for lovers of this series.

Next up, Extras!
